Launch of 'Guaicamacuto' ship strengthens ties with Venezuela and El Faro is entrusted once again to serve in an important event
October 23th
Given the importance that Cádiz people attach to the shipyard industry, a new launching is always lived as a feast day in our Bay. On this occasion however, the act, to which numerous civil and military authorities of Spain and Venezuela have attended, is accompanied by gestures and special meanings. On the one hand, this surveillance ship is only the first of eight boats that Navantia will build for the Venezuelan authorities, thus entails a demonstration of the ability of commitment to the future but, above all, it comes to certify the restoration of good relations between Spain and Venezuela after the incidents in the last summit meeting of Heads of State. The Ambassador of Venezuela in Spain highlighted this second aspect during the launching ceremony. The trust placed in us in such a context fills us with pride and increases our level of commitment.
This time, and in order to focus attention on the act itself, an assortment of appetizers consisting of more than fifteen different proposals was chosen in which, unlike our past services in official events, creativity outweigh any other kind of features, including fidelity to popular recipes. However, a classic such as our marinated dogfish from Conil had a notable success among Venezuelans who were surprised of the characteristic taste that this fish has when cooked with this local procedure. |
